For me, becoming an influence online wasn’t as easy as just having a post go viral and becoming an overnight sensation.
In fact, I put months, actually years, of hard work into growing my influence.
I started from 0, just like a lot of other successful #bossbabes out there & continue every day to build my online empire. And I bet you’re the same.
You see girl, the chances are that you haven’t just stumbled across this post by accident. In fact, I am almost certain that you came to this post for a reason.
Whether you’re feeling like:
- You just can’t find your place online or
- You’re sick of everything you try failing
Here’s the real game-changer in becoming an influence online..
It’s all in your mindset!
The number one thing that holds so many female entrepreneurs back & from achieving their goals is their mindset.
As influencers, we can often get lost, questioning ourselves, wondering whether or not we’ve made a right choice or even just said the right thing. We can question every little thing we do and we can push ourselves around over the smallest of things.
But, when we’re in the right mindset, full of joy, happiness, inspiration & motivation, now that’s where the big goals get ticked off.
So how can we know if our mindset is in the right place? How do we know if we need to clean up our headspace to ultimately become better influencer’s online?
Well, the most important thing to remember is this…
When you’re truly ready to become an influence online, you must understand that the one thing that comes above all else is your happiness.
I mean it. It’s not your families opinion on your “hobby” and it’s certainly not what other people think of you – friends & strangers included.
Your happiness comes above everything.
Now, I know I’ve already shared with you 3 lessons I’ve learned as an Instagram Influencer & how these affected me both in my career and my everyday life, but that’s not what this post is all about.
This post is all about digging deep into your mindset & discovering what’s really holding you back from achieving your goal of becoming an influence online.
So let’s get started.
Now, when you take a look at your mindset around becoming an influence online, what comes to mind?
Do you think that becoming an influence is all about:
- Gaining loads of followers on social media
- Setting the perfect pricing for our services & products
- Creating the ultimate opt-in freebie to grow your email list
- Working with huge brands & getting loads of exposure
I’ll give you a clue…
It’s none of them!
Becoming an influence online isn’t about gaining followers (aka vanity figures), knowing how to price your ecourse, growing your email list or working with the big brands.
Becoming an influence online is about growing a loyal following of die-hard fans who love you for you, trust what you have to say & see the value in what you’re creating.
Your influence might guide them to make the right buying decisions or to simply feel a certain emotion. So no matter how you’re influencing (or planning to influence) when you put your heart & soul into it, it’ll pay off.
When you listen to your heart & be true to yourself, 9 times out of 10, you’ll see big, big changes in your growth.
It’s when you ignore the status quo & do what you think is right for you, that you will truly succeed.
Yes, you may make a mistake or two (or a thousand in this chick’s case) but that’s life. Don’t let it get to you. Wipe off the dirt, stand back up & get straight back on that wagon.
In fact, let’s take a look at a real-life example of someone who’s definitely not perfect.
I’ve added wrong links in emails, had spelling mistakes in my blog posts & even fallen into the trap of gossip (like every other female EVER has done).
But has this ruined me? Am I defeated?
I came through each of these struggles smarter, wiser & stronger every single time. I’ve learnt a million-and-one life lessons from my mistakes and I am damn proud of that. (You should be too you know!)
Now, if my mindset hadn’t of been in the right place during all of these simple mistakes, I could have up and quit right then & there.
But I didn’t. I persevered and I pushed through. I didn’t let my mistakes define who I am or who I want to become.
Imagine if every time you made a mistake, you quit. You just threw in the towel & said “I’m a failure. I give up” and then never pursued that thing you once loved so much, ever again.
I mean, really think about it…
Have you ever had something really shitty happen & you were just so damn angry that you were ready to give up? Did you feel like trying to fix that problem was just the biggest issue in the world & absolutely nothing you could do would fix it?
Now, if you could go back in time & tell yourself that the outcome would be that you would absolutely overcome your issue (in fact, smash it out of the ballpark), would you have handled the situation differently?
You would have told yourself “Hey girl, everything is gonna work out. Push through – you’re gonna make it out on top!” right?!
It’s the mistakes you make that help you to overcome obstacles.
Whether that be in your career or just your everyday life – there’s something to learn from every mistake.
When you shift the way you think about a particular problem, you will overcome that problem so much quicker, more efficiently & positively (compared to if you had a negative mindset).
Now, I know that me telling you to “be happy” during the hard times might seem like pretty shitty advice. But, that’s not what I’m telling you.
I’m telling you that in a world (the internet) where anything can be taken as something else (most of the time causing negativity), you’ve got to try & see the positives in each situation.
Let me get specific here..
Here’s a “short” list of some of the common struggles that female entrepreneurs face on a daily basis:
- Overthinking advice from others
- Questioning decisions we’ve made
- Worrying about the opinions of strangers & close family/friends
- Holding back from doing what we love
- Following in others footsteps
- Not being true to ourselves
How do I know all of this? You ask.
Because I too have experienced each of these struggles in my own career.
But it’s with a clear & open mindset that I can process these struggles and not only move past them but actually work *through* them.
Instead of hitting one of these struggles along your journey & admitting defeat, rise up. Show the world that you are a #bossbabe & that you are what you say you are – determined, intelligent and most importantly, proud of who you are.
Each day is a new opportunity to become a better version of yourself than the day before.
Don’t be afraid to take risks, say something you normally wouldn’t or do something you’d never thought you could do.
Your mindset is the only thing capable of stopping you from achieving your goals. Don’t let it.
