If you’re familiar with Pinterest (which fingers crossed you are) and what it can do for your blog, then boy oh boy are you gonna to love today’s post babe.
Why’s that? You ask.
This post contains affiliate links. I will only ever promote something if I genuinely believe in the product and believe it’s valuable to my audience. For more information, please see my disclaimer*.
Because pretty gal, today’s post is all about Tailwind for Pinterest (aka the ultimate Pinterest tool) and how it can leverage not only your blog stats but your email subscriber rates, amount of comments your posts generate and how many loving fans will show up for you time after time.
Oh, and not to mention that you can actually make money through it too!
So, if you’re unfamiliar with the term “Tailwind” and are scratching your head harder than when you were 5 years old & covered in nits, let me explain.
Tailwind is what they call a “Pinterest Automation Tool” or a “Scheduling Manager”.
Or, to put it plain and simple, it’s basically just an awesome program that allows you to schedule your pins to run your Pinterest on autopilot.
So that means – whilst you’re asleep, grooming your bunnies or busy working away on your next eCourse, Tailwind is doing all the hard work for you and pinning #allthepins.
How To Set Up Your Tailwind Account
Right, so before we get stuck into the absolute nitty-gritty of all things Tailwind & how it’s the number one tool I use to grow my Pinterest, I’m going to show you exactly how to set up your very own account.
So, when you’re ready to join, you can take advantage of Tailwind’s 100 free pins to “try before you buy”.
Or, if you’re downright committed to seeing some freaking amazing results right from the get-go, you can claim your 100 free pins & then jump straight to the Plus Plan girl (which I actually ended up doing) 😅
Either way, I luuuurve that Tailwind gives you the opportunity to try it before you buy it. I mean, how many tools & resources nowadays do you see offering deals like this, hey?
Back to the set up…
First things first – head to the Tailwind site and select “Sign Up With Pinterest”.
Then, all you do is sign in to your Pinterest account like normal in the box that appears & viola, you’re in – 100 free pins already ready to go!
Once your free trial is up, you can either A) Go back to minimal Pinterest results & blog traffic or B) Upgrade to a paid plan and see HUGE results with Tailwind.
I know which option I chose 😜
Tailwind’s pricing is extremely affordable and can be paid either monthly or annually, depending on how you like to budget your biz.
I first started out on the monthly plan & then decided to opt for the best value for money & switched to annual.
Whilst the monthly plan works out great short term, taking into consideration the fact that you don’t have to pay one huge lump sum, switching to annual billing was the best decision I could have made for two reasons.
Reason #1 – The payment part was over & done with in one go. I didn’t have to worry about it coming out every single month (which is great for budgeting)
Reason #2 – You get UNLIMITED scheduling with the annual plan, which I’ll explain better in just a moment!
With Tailwind’s monthly billing plan including up to 400 pins a month, at first I was like “woooahhh that’s a lotta pins yo! I’ll never use that. No way.”
Little did I know that I would soon become hooked on Tailwind & definitely need more than 400 pins a month. Crikey!
So, to score myself an unlimited amount of pins per month, I changed over to the annual billing & forked out the $119USD (which was around $155AUD at the time) and quite frankly, I’m damn glad I made the change (if you couldn’t already tell).
That’s the freedom of Tailwind – you can adjust it as you go!
Now, onto the part you’ve been waiting ever so patiently for…
7 Reasons Why Tailwind Has Changed My Blog & Business
Right, so before I jump into the “how-to’s” of Tailwind, I wanna let you in on some secrets.
Actually, it’s just a big ol’ of fabulous reasons why Tailwind is the ultimate Pinterest tool & I’m positive you’re gonna love ’em.
Let’s jump in, shall we?!
Reason #1 – My blog traffic has grown
So, although blog traffic isn’t the most important thing ever – it’s still freakin’ fabulous to see your stats grow!
I mean, in the month of November ‘17, I posted once on my blog and do you think my traffic dropped in the slightest? NOPE.
Why’s that, you’re wondering?
Because, whilst I was flat out trying to get my life in order & focus on some majorly exciting [& time consuming] biz tasks, Tailwind was sending people all over the globe to my content, without me even looking at it.
Sounds freaking amazing, doesn’t it?! Well wait until you read the next reason…
Reason #2 – My email subscribers have grown
Like I mean, really grown.
In fact, in the month of October ‘17 alone, I doubled my email subscribers. Yep, DOUBLED.
All because of the pins I’d scheduled waaay back on Tailwind, thousands of people were viewing my content, loving my blog posts & signing up for my freebies. So much so, that my email list doubled in just ONE MONTH!
Still to this day, each month my email list is growing faster & faster than ever.
Now, of course, I can’t put it down to just Tailwind but boy oh boy it’s skyrocketed my growth something fierce babe!
I mean, the proof is in the results…
Ps – LOL at the fact that I didn’t even *have* an email list in December last year…
Reason #3 – The number of students taking my coures & buying my ebooks has increased
Just when you think that this list can’t get any better, I throw a spanner in the works! 🙈
Thanks to all of my pins constantly promoting my eCourse & eBook, my enrolments are consistently increasing. Woop woop!
So how do I do it?
Well, I design all of my pins from scratch using Adobe Photoshop, upload to my Pinterest account & then schedule away using Tailwind.
Now, if you’re not the creative type & kinda have no idea what you’re doing in Photoshop, no stress babe. There are thousands of fab ready to use Pinterest templates on Creative Market that will look just as gorg as these ones 👌🏼
Anywho, where was I?!
Oh yes, the next reason why Tailwind is the BOMB.COM 💣
Reason #4 – My affiliate income has grown
Did you know that way back in the day Pinterest didn’t actually let bloggers & influencers share affiliate links?
Uh huh! You had to write a blog post all about your affiliate product, add your affiliate links to that post, then promote that post on Pinterest and then people would have to click through that entire process.
Sounds exhausting when I put it like that, doesn’t it?!
Now while this still works amazingly, Pinterest finally came around & now allows direct affiliate links.
Being able to take advantage of this feature & schedule all my affiliate pins with Tailwind has not only increased my income but allowed me to find some seriously amazing products to buy myself too!
In fact, I found out about my girl Krista’s course “Pageviews from Pinterest” through Pinterest itself. I signed up, completed the course & fell totally and utterly in love with it.
So you know what that means?
The #bossbabe who shared her affiliate link for Krista’s course made a commission off of my sale, increased her income & she probably didn’t even lift a finger to do so – Woo woo!
Oh and now I’m even an affiliate for Pageviews from Pinterest too (because quite frankly it’s a FREAKING AMAZING course) and make commission off sales through my links – a total win-win I say!
Reason #5 – My network is expanding (more people know who I am)
Despite the fact that I still sometimes see myself as “little ol’ me”, Tailwind has seriously helped me get my name out there. And by there, I mean the big, deep, dark web.
Dun dun dunnnnn…
Haha! But seriously, without Tailwind, I wouldn’t have half the amount of babes I currently do reading my blog posts, joining my Facebook group or just downright supporting me.
I guess you could say more people just know who I am now, which might I just add is fantastic.
I mean, we all know how hard networking & getting your name out there can actually be, right?!
Now, you could be thinking “but how is Tailwind doing that? Isn’t it just Pinterest?” Short answer, yes.
Actually wait, no! Short answer = no.
I mean, without Tailwind, I wouldn’t have enough hours in the day to pin to every single group board I’m a part of. And quite frankly, I’m just too damn lazy for that.
So, whilst you’re wasting hours every day manually pinning, I’ll be busy working away on something far bigger & more important for my business whilst Tailwind does it all for me 😜
Reason #6 – My Pinterest followers have grown MAJORLY
Whilst this reason is the most obvious of them all, without a word of a lie my Pinterest followers have grown all thanks to Tailwind. I mean, it’s a cold, hard fact babe.
When I initially began scheduling with Tailwind, I started with setting my limit to around 20-30 pins per day. Following the 80/20 rule, I would post 80% other people’s content and 20% my own – so that’s around 9 images out of every 30 that would be of my content.
After a short while, I increased my limit to 50 pins per day & as I had a feeling it would do, my Pinterest followers increased also. Back then it was kind of a “the more you pin the more you grow” kind of tactic that seemed to work best.
Since then, the Pinterest algorithm has changed (yay) and there’s no longer a need to post a million pins per day to grow your Pinterest. Hallelujah!
And, now that I’ve dropped my limit on Tailwind back to that 30 pin mark, I still see the same daily growth as I did when it was 50! Boo-yeah!!
Reason #7 – My reach on Pinterest has shot through the roof
At the beginning of this year my Pinterest reach was about 30k max each month. I had minimal visitors coming to my blog from the social media platform & couldn’t work out why.
Since putting Tailwind into play less than 6 months ago, my reach has skyrocketed to over 300k minimum every month.
I mean, look how satisfying this graph is!
Seeing that graph rise every single day (excluding that time in August where I had a pin go viral) is just the freakin’ best.
Knowing that more & more people all over the world are viewing your pins, engaging with them and continuing to your content – um, yes please!
So, if you’re ready to start seeing some major results on Pinterest but can’t be bothered spending hours everyday manually pinning #allthepins, then girl, what are you still doing here?!
Head to Tailwind’s site now & grab your 100 free pins and start seeing the results for yourself. Trust me, you’ll never look back ( I know I sure havent!) 🙌
