Whether you’re a side-hustler or full-time business owner, if you’ve been in the game for any longer than a few months, you’ll know just how testing it can be at times.
There’s the fun times & there’s the not-so-fun times.
There’s the times when you want to scream from the rooftops with your joy for life & there’s the times when you want to hibernate for 3 months like a polar bear.
And ladies, I hear you.
I have been there, I have done that, so to say.
I’ve stressed over fonts, colours, blog post titles & email signatures for minutes, hours, days & sometimes even weeks on end.
All for what?
To have the “perfect” brand identity…
To “perfectly” capture my audiences attention…
To show up “perfectly” professional, yet personal…
And do you think switching my fonts 10 times in a month to create a “perfect” brand identity helped me achieve anything in my business in the long run?
Because whether you realised it before now or not, perfectionism is one of the leading causes of failed businesses.
Sure, you can know your market.
You can create wildly successful launch plans.
And you can certainly create a strong brand identity that looks hella fancy on smartphones.
But when you’re working from a place of lack, a place where nothing you ever do will be good enough, will never be perfect enough…
THAT is when you’re treading on thin ice.
In fact, one of my good friends Alysha from Basil & Bark gave me some great advice one day. In her signature course Digital Product Boss she talks about launching digital products before they’re actually even finished.
Alysha recommends to get your digital product out when it’s at least 80% done.
Not 100%. Just 80% done.
And let me say, when I heard these words come out of her mouth, the inner perfectionist in of me quivered.
I thought “But how… If it’s not ready, how can you launch it! People won’t buy it!”
And then, all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye…
What Alysha was saying totally made sense.
Too often businessowners just like you & I stop ourselves from launching something, hitting send or publishing posts because of what…
We’re too frightened to show up as less-than-perfect that we hold off on putting anything out into the world until we’ve reviewed & revised it 50 times over (+ sometimes we never do!)
And you know what…
Instead of showing up whole-heartedly as you, a thriving, bright & motivated business owner, you’re showing up as a shy, uncertain person who is less-than-confident with anything she does.
And that’s not what I want for you.
That’s not what I want for any of us.
So, instead of wallowing in the lack-of-self-confidence that spreads throughout the online business world, it’s time to do something.

It’s time to ditch the perfectionism & start showing up as the most real, most honest & most RAW version of you.
Don’t let your fear of not showing up as perfect stop you from quitting your 9-5 or hold you back any longer.
Because the moment you let go of the need to have your sh*t together 24/7…
The moment you let go of the want to have “perfect” blog post titles & “perfect” colour choices…
And the moment you choose to accept authenticity & the phrase “done is better than perfect”…
The better off you and your business will be.
I’d love to know, are you letting perfectionism kill your business or are you ready to turn that all around & start showing up as you?
