The Episode Breakdown:

I’ve been having a lot of conversations with my clients about getting ready for 2021, reflecting on 2020 and everything that’s happened, and all of my conversations have come back to this one central topic – how to maintain energy!

Today, I want to show you guys how I maintain my energy in two different ways – vibrational and physical. So what do I mean when I say vibrational energy and physical energy?

Physical energy is probably the most common of the two that you’ve heard of. It’s the energy that your body has to be able to move, walk, think, eat and drink, even just to focus on tasks and sustain working for a period of time.

Vibrational energy, on the other hand, is very different. When I’m talking about vibrational energy, I’m talking about the energy in you that’s not physical, it’s metaphysical. For me, it’s that feeling of being pulled towards something, of being totally connected to your intuition and your gut instincts. It’s what keeps you going when the times are tough and motivates you to go for bigger goals.

Today I’m going to share with you three tips that are going to help you maintain and manage both your vibrational and physical energy as an entrepreneur, with a bonus tip at the end!

So let’s dive into my first tip… DAILY MINDSET WORK.

Before you check your phone in the morning, before you start replying to client messages, emails, Instagram and basically checking in with everyone else, I highly recommend spending some time checking in with YOURSELF, and seeing how you’re feeling.

What’s coming up for you? What are your goals? What are you working on? What are you focusing on for the day?

We spend so much time looking at what other people are doing that we forget to check in with ourselves. A huge part of daily mindset work is having that connection to yourself. There’s a reason why some of the most successful entrepreneurs do their mindset work daily. And I mean entrepreneurs who are genuinely happy and fulfilled, where they feel totally in love with their life and their business.

Mindset work doesn’t have to be in the morning. Any time of the day is a good time to do mindset work! We all have the same 24 hours, we all lead different lifestyles, we all have the same amount of time in a day. Even if it’s just something small, I’m going to give you some ideas on how you can do your daily mindset work.

Visualise yourself hitting that big goal that you’re working towards.

It can just be a quick 20-30 seconds. Maybe it’s a client goal, a launch goal, or an income goal. Just visualise you hitting your goal that you’re working towards. See it happening, feel it happening. Really just spend 20 seconds living as though your desire is your reality.

Visualise yourself having completed your to-do list.

Again, this can just be 20-30 seconds! Visualise yourself sitting on the front patio, with the sun setting, your partner by your side, having a glass at the end of your day knowing that everything in your to-do list was completed to the best of your abilities. That’s my kind of visualisation in the morning!

Grab your journal.

Whilst you have your morning tea or coffee, grab out your journal and make some lists:

  • Five things that you’re grateful for
  • Five things that you’re celebrating
  • Five things that you’re proud of yourself for

It’s what I call my 555 ritual. And it literally takes 5-10 minutes tops! It’s checking in with myself to ask – what am I grateful for in this moment?

Mentally check in with yourself.

You could meditate or do some breath work, but checking in with yourself and seeing how you’re feeling is so important, and I don’t think enough people do it. It could take 20 seconds, 20 minutes, 2 hours, it’s totally up to you!

Check-in with yourself every single day. How am I feeling? If you notice that you’re feeling a certain way that you don’t want to, ask yourself why? Sitting in a negative emotion doesn’t allow us to grow, but we need to feel emotions to heal emotions. Deciding on a new empowering belief and action by checking in with yourself and how you feel can shift your entire emotions in an instant.

No matter what the daily mindset work is, being consistent with it (even if it is just 2-5 minutes here and there throughout your day) is going to help maintain and manage your energy.

On to the next tip, and I *love* talking about this one – BOUNDARIES

Honestly, you can’t expect to maintain your physical or vibrational energy if you’ve got bad boundaries or no boundaries at all.

Let me say that again…

YOU CAN’T EXPECT TO MAINTAIN YOUR ENERGY IF YOU’VE GOT BAD BOUNDARIES OR NO BOUNDARIES AT ALL.

There’s a very important quote that I always say If you aren’t operating at your best, your business can’t operate at its best.”

And in order for you to operate at your best, you need to have boundaries.

When you’re answering client messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, filling your calendar with a billion sales calls that you don’t really want to get on, and allowing people to tell you what to do, because you think that’s what it takes to be “successful” or “growing your business”…

Those are all examples of when you’re not practicing healthy boundaries.

Here’s the thing – boundaries are technically optional. You get to decide if you want to implement them or not. And a big part of implementing boundaries is taking ownership of the fact that the way people treat you is not on anyone else – you have to understand that you set it up that way.

But just like you set it up that way, you get to set it up a different way! It’s up to you to put up the boundary – no one else, YOU.

YOU get to decide how many hours a day you work, how many days a week you work. YOU get to set up your weeks to support your mental and physical health. The ball is in YOUR court.

When it comes to maintaining your energy, not having boundaries in place is a surefire way to burnout physically and vibrationally. If you want to know more, I have an entire episode on boundaries. Make sure to go back and listen to episode 32.

The third tip I wanted to share with you today is more on the vibrational energy side of things – CONSTANT LEARNING & GROWTH.

Here’s my opinion on it – anyone who says that they know everything is lying because the truth is, none of us can really say that we know it all.

As a coach and as a mentor, our journey is what we teach to our clients. They learn from our mistakes, they learn from our lessons, they learn from our wins. If we aren’t constantly growing, then our clients can’t constantly grow. We all have room to grow, we all have so far to go. And I see that as a pretty damn cool thing.

I am constantly learning new things, educating myself, embodying new ways of being and challenging my mindset. When I’m thinking about continuous growth, I’m thinking about wanting to be the best that I can be. I want to show myself that I can do anything I want to do, be anyone I want to be, and achieve anything I want to achieve.

No matter how you like to learn, continuously growing is a big part of being able to maintain that vibrational energy, where you feel motivated and pulled towards things. Not just as a business owner, but as a human being!

So, that was my three things! But – I do have one bonus tip.

It’s a friendly reminder to just look after yourself. Okay?

Get enough sleep. Drink lots of water. Look after your skin. Move your body. Breathe fresh air. Walk barefoot on the grass. Eat food that energises you.

Get your life and your physical body and the people you surround yourself with to match your desires in business. I promise you, that alignment is going to help massively with being able to properly maintain your energy!

So let’s recap…

  1. Daily mindset work
  2. Boundaries
  3. Constant learning & growth
  4. (Bonus!) Look after yourself!!

Maintaining your energy doesn’t have to be hard. It doesn’t have to feel like a chore.

With these tips, you can absolutely maintain both your physical and vibrational energy, so that you don’t feel like you’re on an emotional and energetic rollercoaster!

I hope you got something new out of this, had an ‘aha!’ moment, or maybe thought “YES, this is exactly what I needed to hear!” If so, please tell me! Send me a DM over on Instagram or share a quick screenshot of this episode on your Instagram stories and tag me.
